Fabi Fabi Fabi, Oi! Oi! Oi!

Did someone get a hold of Miley Cyrus, because there is a Party in the USA!  It has been one week since the Candidates Match in Berlin, but 46 years since an American will be challenging for the World Championship.  His name is Fabiano Caruana, and for the next seven months until his shot at the title, The Boss of Chess.

He spent most of his teen years in Italy, but don’t let that fool you.  He was Born in the USA.  No birthers, please.  Wesley So had a rough outing, but this was his first Candidates Match.  Use it as motivation for next time.  Take it from Steven Tyler and Dream on, Dream until your dreams come true.

The Castle will be having a party of it’s own, the TCCL party tomorrow evening starting at 6pm, and the April Think will follow this weekend.  There may be a handful of kids this month too, as they are either competing in the Jr. High Nationals this weekend, or the High School Nationals.

Next weekend, the SCA will put on one of the largest tournaments of the year with it’s championship, and it is where you want to be if you are in Grade 6 or Under.  For those 7th grade through Adult, The Lawrence Lampert Memorial will be a Saturday only tournament.  Go to the SCA website for more details on this.

Two more events cap off the final two weekends in April.  The Okoboji Open in Iowa will be on April 21-22, and the Minneapolis Open will end the month on April 28-29.  This has been your Look Into April for 2018.  Thank you for your time.
