RCC meets weekly with the Mayo Clinic Chess Club, which provides space for RCC to share. Members range in age from 6 to 93 years old. Approximately half are scholastic chess players.
In 2014, RCC entered a fiscal agent agreement with the Rochester Area Foundation (RAF) to allow donors to support youth outreach activities. In April, 2018, RCC became a federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization.
Below is a history of the results of the Rochester Open, one of their signature tournaments drawing people from the Twin Cities, and players from out of state. This was a long running biannual event, but became an annual event starting in 2015.
