Friday Night GM Yermolinsky VS. IM Bartholomew Chess 960 Consultation Match:
 Former U.S. Champion Grandmaster Alex Yermolinsky and International Master / YouTube sensation John Bartholomew will lead two competing teams in an interactive consultation Chess 960 (Fischer Random) match beginning at 6:30pm at Barkers Island the night before the tournament, Friday August 11. Registration for the Consultation Match is 6:00pm – 6:15pm and is $10 on site. Prizes will be awarded for members of Team Yermolinsky and Team Bartholomew!


Saturday & Sunday Tournament Game Analysis with NM Dane Mattson: 
National Master Dane Mattson, ranked top 1% in the USA, will provide free game analysis starting at 3pm & 8pm on Sat and 11am Sun. Prizes will be awarded for best games.
Open: Entry fee is $70 by 7 August, $80 on site. Prize fund is (based on 40 participants)
1st $1,200, 2nd $600, 3rd $300; U2200 $150; U2000 $150; Scott Kittsley Upset Trophy.

Reserve (U1800): 
Entry fee is $60 by 7 August, $70 on site. Prize fund is (based on 40 participants)
1st $700 + Anarae Schunk Memorial Trophy, 2nd $350, 3rd $150; U1600 $120; U1400 $120; U1200 Trophy.

Bantam (U1200): Entry fee is $50 by August 7, $60 on site. Prize fund is (based on 20 participants)
1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50 + Trophies for the top 1st-3rd Elementary students, 1st-3rd Junior high school students, and the top 1st-3rd High school  students.

All of the above: Five games, Swiss pairings. Time Control (note round 1 different from remaining rounds): Round 1 is game in 60 minutes plus 30 second increment; Rounds 2-5 game in 90 minutes plus 30 second increment. Registration Sat 9:00- 10:00am. Rounds: Sat 10:30-2-7; Sun 10-3. USCF membership is required. Hotel: Barkers Island Resort is just across the bridge from Duluth and sits directly on Lake Superior! All Rooms include two beds and windows that view the lake. Friday & Saturday $159 chess rate; $84 on Sunday at Barkers Island Resort, contact the hotel directly for reservations.
