Twin Ports

The Twin Ports Open was created in 2012 with the mission to provide high quality chess that can be enjoyed by everyone. International John Bartholomew has supported the Twin Ports Open all seven years in the capacity of a featured player and special host – he has provided instructive lectures and high-quality simultaneous exhibitions – even once doing both during the same tournament! The Twin Ports Open has attracted such high-profile players as former U.S. Champion Grandmaster Alex Yermolinsky, Grandmasters Bryan Smith, Mauricio Flores, Illya Nyzhnyk, and Woman Grandmaster Camilla Baginskaite.

The Twin Ports Open isn’t only about attracting world-class chess competitors – the Reserve section boasts a first prize of $1000 this year, and there is an U1200 section catered to scholastic players.
