MN Blizzard

The Minnesota Blizzard is a member of the United States Chess League.  Formed in 2015, the Blizzard fell short of the playoffs in their rookie year. Manager Patrick Tang, and co-manager Eric Bell have been providing strong and stable leadership.  A tournament was organized, team meetings and training sessions have been well conducted, and their message has been well directed.

Others have been filling in key roles in support of the Blizzard.  Riaz Khan should also be credited as an essential factor in making things run as smoothly as they do.  That said, when it comes to the information superhighway, he would rather walk gravel roads than be a passenger on it.

Matt Jensen maintains the website, and provides brilliant and insightful analysis.  A YouTube channel has been created (2015 season) to see the games broadcast live for those that do not have access to the games.  The team as a whole, and parents of our younger roster members have been invaluable in providing support and building camaraderie.

n the 2016 season, Chess.com acquired the US Chess League, and it is now called the PRO (Professional Rapid Online) Chess League.  The Minnesota Blizzard also competed in the inaugural year of the Chess PRO League.

The Minnesota Blizzard, has been working with the MSCA and the Chess Castle to create high quality tournaments since their inception.
