March Madness and Scholasti-cology
Are you doing okay, have you recovered. Yeah, I know your bracket is busted. Louisville, Duke, and the Wildcats were caught beneath a landslide of a champagne Villa-nova.
At Least There Is Chess At St. Kates this weekend. Slowly walking down that playing hall, faster than a cannonball. Where are your kids as you turn and sigh…
No, this is not a prelude to the 7th running of the John Denver email, that content will arrive in a few days. Patience. There is still time to sign up, Online registration is still open, and those that need a paper form for onsite registration click here.
At events like these, volunteers are always welcome, and probably needed this year. If interested, please let me know
As a reminder this year, the K-3 and K-5 Championships will be a 1-day five round event. The K-8 Championship is a 2-day six round event. The K-12 Championship will be seven rounds. There is a Friday night option at the Chess Castle for the first round. There is also another option where you can play the first two rounds at a quicker time control at St. Kates. The last option is to take a half point bye for Round 1, and play the remaining six rounds at St. Kates under the established time controls.
I am likely to send out more information this week, leading up to the weekend. Thank you for your time.
